      EASTON - W. Dean Pottorf, 74, of 434 E. Mason St., died at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2005, at his residence. He was born Sept. 23, 1930, in Mason County to Lyle M. and Velma E. Short Pottorf. He married Sandra M. Clementz Jan. 2, 1982, in Easton.

      Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Nash Shawgo will officiate. Burial will be in the Easton Cemetery.

      The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

      Memorial contributions may be made to the Easton BLS or the Easton Community Improvement Fund.

      Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Sandra D. Pottorf of Washburn and Tina L. (John) Kern of Springfield; two brothers, Donald L.(Marjorie) Pottorf of Easton and Richard D. (Jane) Pottorf of Mason City; and two granddaughters.

      Pottorf was a rural mail man for 32 years from 1983 until he retired in 1995.

      He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Navy.

      He was a member of Havana Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 6408; Orphans of the Pacific; the National Rural Mail Carriers Association and the Mason County Farm Bureau.
