      RICHARD HANSON DEAD

      Volin Man Dies in Sioux City Hospital After Operation for Appendicitis.

      Richard Hanson, of Volin, who had been under treatment for appendicitis at the Sioux City hospital for several days, died at that place last Wednesday morning, following an operation. His remains were brought to Yankton on the noon Milwaukee that day and were removed to the home of his father-in-law, Torger Nelson, from which the funeral occurred at 1:30 Thursday afternoon. Rev. Dahl of Gayville officiateing, and the remains were interred in the Norwegian Cemetery at Mission Hill.

      The deceased was born in Clay County thirty years ago and has always been a resident of this State. He was married five years ago to Miss Julia Nelson and from that union one child, Gladys, survives. For the past five years he has been in the employ of the King Elevator Company at Volin, in which position he made many friends. Besides wife and child he is survived by both parents and six brothers and sisters. His father is Amund Hanson, a pioneer resident of Clay County.

      Mrs. Richard Hanson was in Sioux City at the time of her husband’s death and accompanied the remains to Yankton Wednesday.

      The bereaved wife and daughter and other relatives will have the sincere sympathy of their many friends in the community in the great bereavement that has no suddenly come upon them. Mr. Hanson was a very deserving young man of ability and promise, and the news of his untimely death will be received everywhere with much regret.
