In the biographical sketch of A.W. Stambaugh in History of Stark County with an outline sketch of Ohio edited by William Henry Perrin, Amelia was the daughter of Absalom Slater.

In the 1870 Stark County, Ohio Census, she was identified as "Cornelia".

Her tombstone at Green Lawn Cemetery also states that her name was "Cornelia" and states that she was born in 1847.

In addition to a marker for her next to her husband in Green Lawn Cemetery, there is also a marker for her in Bose Cemetery in Sugar Creek Twp. That marker states "Cornelia Stambaugh w/o AW d 4 Jun 1871 27y 4m 26d".

Cornelia married Alfred W. Stambaugh on 12 Oct 1865. Alfred (son of Henry Walter Stambaugh and Susan Wallick) was born on 2 Sep 1841 in Sugar Creek, Stark, Ohio, United States; died in 1912; was buried in Green Lawn Cemetery, Sugar Creek, Stark, Ohio, United States. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
